First year's to-do list

• Get your student ID card at Meyer Library.

• Open a bank account, if you didn't sign up for Wells Fargo.

• See Michelle (MJH 132) and Gina (main office) soon after you arrive. Get your computer account from Michelle, and change your password.

• Grab the best ungrabbed desk in your assigned office.

• Open a Leland account.

• Get housing.

• Get a phone.

• Register your bike and/or car. Buy a parking permit for the latter.

• Get a Time Schedule and a Courses and Degrees from the Registrar's office at the Old Union.

• (If a foreign student) Visit the I-Center.

• (If a foreign student) Apply for a social security card.

• Get a California License/ID card (at the DMV).

• Check (and if necessary pay) your University Bill by September 26.

• Sign up for courses (using the computer system Axess) by October 8, or else you will be charged a late fee. (You have until Oct. 22 to add new courses and yet another week to drop some, so just sign up for anything, but make sure you sign up.)
